THE PRESIDENT AND HIS FUNCTIONS

1. The Dean Students’ Welfare is the ex-officio President of the Gymkhana
2. The President will ensure that all records of the Gymkhana are properly maintained by the Gymkhana office.
3. The President shall have the control on the gymkhana and their inventory of all sports and their equipment.
4 .The president has the supreme authority in all the matters related to the members of Gymkhana (i.e., the students of National Institute of Technology, Silchar).
5. The President consults only the Vice-President of the Gymkhana and entertains only the Vice- President’s pleas or the pleas forwarded by him. In special case, the General Secretary(Gymkhana) can bear the complete discretionary power of the President. However the President can consult any member(including non-voting members) of the GC as per will.

Professor Misra received his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College under Dibrugarh University in 1991, M.Tech. in Energy Studies from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1996, and Ph. D. in Thermal Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2004. He has joined as faculty in Mechanical Engineering in the National Institute of Technology Silchar in 1992. He has served NIT Silchar as Lecturer from 1992 to 2003, as Assistant /Associate Professor from 2004 to 2009, and as Professor from 2010 till date. He is a professional member of the Indian Society for Technical Education and The Engineering Society For Advancing Mobility Land Sea Air and Space (SAEINDIA).

THE VICE-PRESIDENT AND HIS FUNCTIONS

1. The Vice-President is a bona-fide final year student elected for a period of one year.
2. He will assist the President and the Chairman(Cultural activities/Sports) in all the Gymkhana matters.
3. He will carry out any functions delegated to him by the President or the higher authority.
4. He shall organize and monitor all student related activities.
5. He is the signatory body forwarding any financial matter to the President.
6. He is the Chief Representative(spokesperson) of the Institute’s student community.
7. He will be the convener of the annual Technical festival Committee of NIT, Silchar along with the General Secretary(Gymkhana).
8. He is the ex-offico member and lead of any student related activity or committee initiated or constructed by the Institute authorities.

ANIRBAN ROY

GENERAL SECRETARY AND HIS FUNCTIONS

1. General Secretary is a bona-fide student elected for a period of one year.
2. He is the secretary of the GC. He will convene meetings, prepare agenda and maintain the minutes of the meeting.
3. He will co-ordinate the overall functioning and activities of the Gymkhana under the supervision of the Vice-President and the guidance of the President.
4. He will be the convener of the annual Technical festival Committee of NIT, Silchar along with the Vice-President.
5. He will present the annual report at the general body meeting of the Gymkhana..
6. He shall take necessary steps on the above with the consent of the Vice-President.

ANKAN KISHORE PATHAK

GENERAL SECRETARY(CULTURAL) AND HIS FUNCTIONS

1. General Secretary(Cultural) is a bona-fide student, elected for a period of one year.
2. He will co-ordinate all cultural activities of Gymkhana.
3. He will exercise financial control on all Secretaries of under Cultural Committee selected by G.C. under the consent of Vice –President and the General Secretary(Gymkhana).
4. He will act as the principal contact in matters related to the various Cultural meets.

VICTOR DAS

GENERAL SECRETARY(SPORTS) AND HIS FUNCTIONS:

1. General Secretary(Sports) is a bona-fide student, elected for a period of one year.
2. He will co-ordinate all sports activities of the Gymkhana.
3. He will exercise financial control on all Secretaries of under Sports Committee selected by G.C under the consent of the Vice-President and the General Secretary(Gymkhana).
4. He will act as the principal contact in matters related to the various sports meets.

BIKASH NATH

GENERAL SECRETARY (TECHNICAL)

1. General Secretary(Technical) is a bona-fide student elected for a period of one year.
2. He is appointed as the Chief Coordinator of Technical Fest of NIT Silchar: Tecnoesis.
3. He conducts various technical activities through out the year.
4. He is responsible for conducting regular events related to his port-folio.
5. He is responsible for maintaining website of Gymkhana Union Body, NIT Silchar & addresses Internet issues.

ABHINAV ASTHANA

SECRETARY (LITERARY, PUBLICATIONS, QUIZ, DEBATE, FINE ARTS ETC.)

1. Secretary(Literary, Publications, Quiz, Debate , Fine Arts etc.) is a bona-fide student elected for a period of one year.
2. He is responsible for all the activities related to the Literary, Publications, Quiz, Debate , Fine Arts etc., of the Institute.
3. He is responsible for constituting any team for the representation of cited activities in any competition.
4. He is the principal contact person in all the cited activities.
5. He is the chief editor for any publication related to the institute and works with the vice-president and general secretary (Gymkhana) for deciding the title and structure of the publication.
6. Other responsibilities of the secretary are decided by the president ,vice-president and the general secretary(Gymkhana).
7. He is responsible for conducting regular events related to his port-folio.

SHANKHADEEP GOGOI

SECRETARY (PHOTOGRAPHY)

1. Secretary (Photography) is a bona-fide student elected for a period of one year.
2. He is responsible for all the activities related to Photography and videography.
3. It is the responsibility of the secretary to arrange the students’ participation in photography and videography in all the events of the institute.
